Literacy Week: Honk

March 08, 2013
On Wednesday morning Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 were treated to a performance of CPA Studios' 'Honk', a musical adaptation of Hans Christian Anderson's The Ugly Duckling. Honk told the story of Ugly, a duckling who looks nothing like his brothers and sisters, his kind mother Ida and a host of other colourful characters. The children loved the villain of the piece, a devious cat who tried to eat poor Ugly! Other favourites were Bullfrog, Drake and Penny, a beautiful swan. The singing and acting were outstanding and the imaginative costumes made it thrilling to watch. After the performance, Key Stage 1 pupils took part in a workshop where they explored the themes of the show and played some games. A big thank you to CPA Studios for a wonderfully entertaining morning.
