Year 6 Music: Beatboxing

April 28, 2015
In Music, Year 6 have been studying Hip Hop music. As part of the unit, they have been learning how to beatbox. Beatboxing is when you use your voice to imitate drum sounds. Year 6 created their own ostinato rhythms and used notation to help them record their beatbox compositions. Most of our pupils found it very difficult at first, but after lots of practice they performed some impressive percussive patterns. The children are now looking forward to the next step: writing their own Hip Hop song.
